This paper aims to show that many custodial staking services in the crypto industry 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙧𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙧𝙚 𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙡𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙚. It argues that most staking arrangements maintain direct asset control for holders or custodians, potentially exempting them from stringent banking regulations.
